Skates in a mine?

We took it easy at home when I got a call. It was a call from Henrik where he asked if I was interested in filming them. They was going to skate in an open pit that belongs to a larger mine that we have nearby.

I did not have to think very long! I quickly packed both drones and film camera and set off.

The ice was really nice, I already knew that since I flew over it with a drone just the day before. So I knew this was going to be special.

I already knew about the weather forecast and snow would probably cover the ice later in the same week. So it was now or never.

Although it is an open pit for a mine, there is plenty of space to go and explore.

This slope probably consists of most things you can imagine. You see traces of demolition material, reinforcement, stone, sheet metal and at the top you can also see a green bathtub.

These “stones” can not be believed to be particularly large. But they are the top of large boulders lurking beneath the surface.

Here you can see some house ruins right on the edge. The largest in the picture is the old distribution station.
